What We Offer

What We Offer

Curriculum

At Little Gems, we offer a broad and balanced curriculum where children learn through play,

following the EYFS guidelines. There are three prime areas and four specific areas of learning that are relevant to early years (available here).

Our curriculum plans cover all these areas sequentially, starting in September at the beginning of each academic year. Each key person assesses the level of functioning of their key children regularly. Thus meaning that they observe what children know and how best they learn, adapting the curriculum plans to suit the individual needs of every child. The curriculum plans are a flexible framework of ideas for relevant activities and experiences for each term.

Timings

We operate for 38 weeks each year, Monday to Friday, from 8:00 am to 3:30 pm. Our free nursery sessions follow the school term schedule.

Islamic Ethos

We are a fully inclusive setting open to the whole community operating within an Islamic ethos. We value the diversity children bring to our setting – ethnically, racially, linguistically, and developmentally.

We aim to foster moral, emotional and spiritual development, as well as faith, within an environment permeated with an Islamic ethos.

We aim to develop individuals with robust personalities who demonstrate excellent character and attitude so that they are confident citizens of purpose and integrity. Who contribute positively to society, their families and the world.

Lunch and Snack

We provide our children with healthy snacks and drinks during the session, including fruits, salads, a carbohydrate based snack, and milk. Parents of full-day children can choose to either pack their child's lunch or order a hot lunch from us, which is prepared with HMC certified meat.

All our snacks and meals follow the recomendations of the ‘Voluntary Food and Drink Guidelines for Early Years settings in England’, and are checked and approved by the Local Authority Dieticians.

Staff

At Little Gems, our team comprises dedicated and qualified professionals. The majority of our staff members possess extensive experience in Early Years, with some also holding qualifications in Islamic studies.

Fees

We offer free 15 hours and 30 hours of nursery education for eligible children aged 2 to 5 years. Our day care rates vary, with hourly rates starting from £8.00 an hour depending on the age range of the child.

Settling in..

We understand that children who are new to a nursery environment may experience difficulty adjusting and may require some time to settle in comfortably. Rest assured, we are committed to providing the necessary support to facilitate a smooth transition from home to our nursery. We work closely with families to ensure a smooth transion based on the individual needs of children.

Special Educational Needs

At Little Gems Nursery, we are committed to adhering to the DFES SEN Code of Practice and ensuring that every child receives suitable learning opportunities. We firmly support the entitlement of all children to a comprehensive, well-rounded curriculum that is tailored to their individual needs, ensuring that all children have equal access to quality education.

Outings

At Little Gems, we organise frequent outings to our local park, offering children valuable outdoor experiences that promote physical and cognitive development. We also arrange engaging story sessions at the Stamford Hill library. On occasions, we plan longer outings, and parents are informed in advance, with written consent obtained to ensure the safety and participation of the children
